By downloading, installing, or using TabTap, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses any part of the service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use TabTap. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
TabTap is a bill-splitting application that allows users to scan receipts, divide costs among a group, and facilitate payments between individuals. The service includes receipt scanning, itemized splitting, payment tracking, and related features.
Some features may be offered in beta or preview form. These features are provided "as is" and may change or be discontinued at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice before removing features that users rely on.
To use most features of TabTap, you need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
Each person may maintain only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or abuse the service is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.
TabTap facilitates payments between users but is not a bank or money transmitter. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment partners. By using payment features, you also agree to their terms of service.
TabTap is not responsible for disputes between users regarding the accuracy of bill splits or payment amounts. We provide tools to help you split bills fairly, but the final responsibility for agreeing on amounts rests with the users involved.
TabTap is currently free to use. If we introduce fees in the future, we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice and will not charge you without your explicit consent.
You may use TabTap for personal, non-commercial bill splitting among friends, family, and colleagues. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others.
You may not use TabTap to: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) transmit fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive content; (c) attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; (d) use automated tools to scrape or extract data; (e) harass, abuse, or harm other users; or (f) use the service for commercial money transmission without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. We may also report illegal activity to law enforcement.
TabTap and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by TabTap, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to TabTap, such as receipt images. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process and store it solely to provide the service to you. We do not claim ownership of your receipts or transaction data.
TabTap is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Our receipt scanning technology uses optical character recognition (OCR) and may not always produce perfectly accurate results. Always verify split amounts before making payments. TabTap is not liable for errors resulting from inaccurate receipt scans.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TabTap, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You may stop using TabTap and delete your account at any time through Settings → Account → Delete Account. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to TabTap at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. If we terminate your account without cause, we will provide reasonable notice and a refund of any prepaid fees.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California.
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will try to resolve most issues within 30 days.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and display a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of TabTap after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
